Well, I made it through the Surgery just fine, & so far still no gas pains, thank god!! But I have had the worst case of Constipation already!! I didn't think I was ever going to be able to go! But finally....relief!! LOL. Sorry if this is TMI for you, but this is how I am feeling right now, so I just want to be honest.
The other problem I am having is my ears. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the Surgery or not (probably not), or if it was due to the drive home over the Sierra's. I had taken some of my Liquid Vicodin for pain during the ride home & I became a bit tired so I tried to lay my head back while driving home & slept a bit, which meant that I wasn't awake to attempt to keep my ears cleared, pressure wise. So, I am guessing that my pain is from the pressure.
I've got to tell you, even though my DH tried his best to drive slowly home, which is totally against his nature! Parts of the road on the drive home is still in horrible condition & bumpy! My DH forgot to keep out a pillow for my head & I felt like I was being tortured, as the truck is not the most comfortable to begin with, then all the bouncing & bumping!
Once we got home, I felt like I had been hit by a truck so I took some more drugs & went to bed for a few hours. Once I woke up, I felt much better!! I will be posting some of the photos that my DH took of me in the Hospital, some are not too great, so please bear with us, he forgot to turn on the flash.
This is a photo that I took when we stopped at the Summit rest area for a bathroom break on our way to Reno. It had snowed the day before & left some nice clean snow.
This is me right after the 2nd Nurse, Bing was able to get my IV started in my right hand. The 1st Nurse, attempted it in my left, which is why I have the bandage on my left hand! Don't I look pretty in my huge gown & socks? Not to mention the leggings! But boy were they nice! Like getting a leg massage all night. So much better than the old fashioned tight stocking leggings.
Here is the board that listed the Doctor's, Anesthesiologist's & Nurse's assigned to each bed. The red check is me. My Doctor was Kozar & the Anesthesiologist was Dr Marshall (the Head of Anesthesia).
The Surgical Nurse & the Student Nurse that I agreed to allow in the OR, getting ready to wheel me to the OR.
Being wheeled back to my permanent room. You can see by my eyes & forehead that I had spotted my DH & was trying not to cry!
Here is a photo of my Stitches today before we left the Hotel. They had bled during the night while I was sleeping, turning, walking, etc. Unfortunately, the flash wasn't on, so the color is horrible. You can see the bloating of the stomach was accentuated.
Well, I guess I better go for now. Time to eat.
Aloha My Friends :)

OUCH! Constipation.. be gone!!
What a cool Doc you have to let you take pics and even ham it up for the camera.. I doubt mine would have even cracked a smile lol. Don't worry about the bloating, etc.. it does pass I promise you.. (probably faster than the constipation) Stay well. x
Fantastic pictures. Yes, getting used to the lack of poopies after surgery takes a little while, but it will happen!
Wow, welcome to the losers bench! Colace tablets are good for the constipation. That's what my surgeon told me to take...
Your surgeon looks fun, flashing Walt the peace sign. Also, I had the exact same snazzy blue socks!
Thanks guys! I really don't want to go through passing like that again, I will get me something to help the next time! I tell you, that was more pain than the Surgery. I will check out the Colace tablets for sure!!
Yes, I was lucky that I have a great Doctor with a fantastic sense of humor. I wasn't expecting the peace sign though. :)
