A Big Shout Out To Jen !!

My Photo

Hey Ya'll,

I just checked in and noticed that I have TWO new Follower's!!  But since I like to welcome each and every new Follower individually, here is the information on my 1st of 2 new Follower's.  Her name is Jen, and her Blog link is: Fed Up With Being OverfedJen was Banded on June 15, 2010 and has already lost 91 lbs!!!  Go Jen!!  I have been Banded 7 months longer than you, and I have only lost 55 lbs, so like I said before....you go girl!!  But everyone needs the help and support of others, so if you haven't already checked out her Blog, please pop over and say Hello!!  So Jen...."Welcome to my Nightmare".....

As an added note here from Jen, she lost 44 lbs of her 91 loss, in a pre-op diet.  So she has lost 47 lbs since Surgery!  Which is still better than me!  LOL  I lost 17 lbs of my 55 lbs in my 2 week pre-op diet, and 38 lbs since Surgery, which has only taken me 16.5 MONTHS!!  LOL

Aloha My New Friend  :)

Aw, thanks... And Hi!

I haven't lost 91 since banding date, though. I lost 44 of that between my consult and my band date, so in the 6 months before being banded. I had to follow a Dr. supervised diet for a while before insurance would approve me, and I'm pretty good at sticking with diets for the short term. It's doing it for the long haul that's rough for me, and maintaining loss has been impossible for me in my past.

My progress since being banded has been hit or miss, but it's getting there, a little at a time! While my band is not all I had hoped for as a weight LOSS tool, I think it will be exactly what I need in the long term -- a fantastic *maintenance* tool. :D

I totally understand Jen, I feel the same way as you regarding the Band. And my 55 lbs has been total as well!! Which is including the weight loss before Surgery for the pre-op diet.

And I too can lose weight easy in the short term, but keeping at it in the long term was always my problem too!!
