A Question & An NSV!! :)

Hey Ya'll,

Sorry, I forgot to ask a question of those who preceded me into Surgery.  I am now 7 weeks past Surgery & my hair appears to be falling out at an alarming rate & I am eating a diet high in Protein!!  I know that this has been talked about many times on different blogs, but my question is, what are the hair products that everyone is raving about to help with the hair loss & restoration?  Is it Nioxin?  Please help!!

Now, as for the NSV.  It is good, but bad at the same time!  I fell down our stairs over 10 years ago, breaking my tailbone, & ever since, I would have pain if I sat too long or in the wrong position.  But I haven't had the pain too often lately, due to the extra fat on my butt!  But since I have started to lose weight & inches, my tailbone kills me daily!!  So it is good, that I am losing inches, but bad, because it HURTS!!

Oh well, I guess it is a negative that I can learn to live with. :)  I just hope someone helps me in finding a good product for my hair as I have VERY, THIN, FINE HAIR!!  And I can't afford to lose anymore than necessary!!

Help Me?

Aloha My Friends  :)

Debi-- I think I missed one of your posts, and will go back, but I'd also try using Biotin, the supplement, you can get it in lozenges-- and some people also say that is good for hair loss.
From what I've read, the hair will come back, it is just a phase where your body is going through a shock, hormones changing and it is a 'shedding.' Hang in there-- it will return!!!

Yep, it's Biotin. I haven't noticed the hair problem, but I have really thick hair and my weightloss has been very VERY slow :(

I don't know how, but at 4 months out I have avoided the hair loss problem. My losses have not been super fast either, just slow and steady. I think Nioxin is the shampoo, right? I hear good things about that.

That NSV is a mixed blessing! I hope it does not bring you too much pain!

I am having the same problem with my hair. It's scary....and I cry everytime and it seems to be getting worse. I told my Dr about it yesterday, and he told me to take zinc. I got some last night. I called my beautician, she is giving me a package on MOnday with shampoo and vitamins that are supposed to help, I will let you know the name of them when I get them. And she also told me to stop washing my hair every day and start washing it every other day only.

Thanks guys. I couldn't remember what everyone was using. I remember the name Biotin, but I couldn't remember if that was a shampoo or supplement & I couldn't remember where you get it either. I will try to find it.

Susieq, please do let me know what your Beautician gives you! I will also try the Zinc.
