Not Good News :(

Hey Ya'll,

Well, my DH has been on the phone most of the day with different members of his family, as well as the Nurses at the Hospital, & the general consensus is that my FIL is declining so fast, that he may not even make it through the night.

The Nurse told us that they are not even giving him drugs anymore.  They are just giving comfort to him.  They also do not believe that he is aware of his surroundings.  She said that they can sometimes rouse him to eat a bit, but they have to hand feed him.  My MIL doesn't believe that he recognizes her anymore either.  My MIL said that we should get up there soon, if we want to see him before he passes.  One of her friends is driving her to the Hospital at 2 am in the morning so she can sit with him, since a lot of older people tend to pass during the night.  She wants to be there with him if this is the case.

We will be driving up in the morning & my SIL that lives in Sacramento may drive up with us as well.  Luckily, the weather is good, so we don't have to worry about that as far as driving over the Sierra's this time.  Unfortunately, this means that my DH has to take even more time off from work, & since we are self employed, if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid.  But what can you do?

I will keep you posted when I have news.

Aloha My Friends

Debi,

Thanks for your comments. Yes, losing the weight has helped my fibro alot. Getting on an antidepressant, making sure I get plenty of good sleep, and really good psychoanalysis as well (yes, the good old Freudian type). I still get some pain when I'm stressed, but it's much more manageable. How have you been treating your fibro? Any success? Did you have a hard time getting a diagnosis and help? I sure did!!!
