Have You Ever Felt Like You Were Not Alone???

Hey Ya'll,

I had the most unnerving experience tonight!!  You will probably think that I am nuts!  And I am not so sure you wouldn't be wrong!!  This would be a great subject to discuss with a shrink I think.  LOL

Earlier tonight I decided I wanted to lay down for a short time to relax my back.  Walt had already gone to bed, so I went to lay down on one of our sofas.  The sofa is really comfortable, so I was concerned that I would fall asleep and end up sleeping most of the night there rather than in bed where I prefer to sleep, right next to Walt.  So I set my cell phones alarm to wake me up within 45 minutes just in case.  I laid down and covered myself with my super soft long robe.

As luck would have it, I actually did fall to sleep.  But soon realized that I was hearing voices speaking in hushed tones.  They sounded like they were about 8 feet away.  I was freaked out and quickly opened my eyes, to see who was in the room with me.  As soon as I opened my eyes, the voices stopped!!

By now, I was starting to feel chilled even though I was covered with the robe.  But I just figured that I must be dreaming all this, even though I hadn't been asleep long enough to have achieved deep enough sleep to be dreaming!  Again after a short time, I heard the voices, but this time they were around where my legs and feet were.  I actually felt like someone had uncovered my feet and was touching them!  I instantly woke up again, and again the voices stopped, there was no one standing there, but my feet were uncovered.  And it was colder still.

So again, I blew it off and went back to sleep, and it seemed like I almost immediately began hearing the voices again.  But this time I felt like someone was right next to my face and upper body!!  I was freaked out and terrified to open my eyes.  I just knew that I would see someone or something standing there next to me!!  But luckily I didn't, and the voices stopped.

By now I was truly chilled and glad that I had my robe around me.  Also, I was now totally freaked out, and decided I wasn't going to temp whatever it was again.  I got up and came back into my office.  This has never happened to me before, and I hope it never happens again!!

So, this was my personal "ghost" story!  Whether or not it really happened, who knows!  But I feel like it really happened.  I wasn't asleep for long.  I was only laying down for a total of 35 minutes!!!!  So, what do you think?  Am I nuts?  Or could this have really happened?  Well, I better go for now so that I can start getting ready for bed!!  Hoping everyone is having a great weekend.  Till next time...

Aloha My Friends  :)

WOW!! It sounds like you definitely had a paranormal experience. My friend is an investigator--I'll ask her about what type of being it could have been!

Doesn't sound nuts to me. We had some pretty strange things going on in our house (lights going on, sound of people running up and down the hall when the babes were asleep, me waking up to someone tapping my leg), including our daughter talking to people. We ended up having our house clensed (the person sensed a spirit there) and haven't had problems since. I know how strange it sounds, so we've not told anyone. I just don't know how people will react to something like that.

i definitely don't think you are crazy :-) i have "encounters" all the time!! very cool....if it happens again just try to clear your mind and focus on your breathing, you might be able to understand what they are saying! i'm sure it was just someone stopping by to say hi, or give you the winning lottery numbers :-)

I totally believe in ghosts, so call me crazy too. Have had experiences and heard of too many stories from credible sources not to believe. I agree with Carmen - if it happens again, try not to get scared, but concentrate on what they are saying.

Ok I do not believe in ghosts but when I am stressed-out over life events I have similar things happen. Immediately after I fall asleep I feel people reaching at my face with their hands. I always wake up swiping my arms in the air. I started happening when I totally messed up my sleep and was being harassed in my first teaching job. It went away after a time and then re-occurred when I left my first husband and moved into a new apartment with my three older daughters. It showed up again when I started taking exams for my Ph.D. and finally showed up again when I was in the midst of quitting my job a few weeks ago. It is always the same dream and always occurs right after I fall asleep. I have decided it is my stress levels messing with my sleep patterns.

Thanks everyone!

Grace, thanks for offering to check in with your investigator friend. That you be great to know what they think about my "encounter".

Robyn, wow, sounds like you really had some experiences. Glad to hear that they were resolved and all is well.

Alexis, I too would normally love to hear of these happenings. But it felt different when it was me it happened too!! LOL Hopefully I won't be too freaked out if it happens again.

Carmen, wow, you must really be in tune with yourself and the universe to have encounters this often. Thanks for the advise, if it happens again, I will try to relax and see if I can tell what is being conveyed to me.

Bonnie, glad to know that I am not the only one to believe. And you have had experiences yourself!

Tina, I totally understand your not believing. You come from a Science and Mathematics background. Which means that you are more analytical. Usually these types of personalities takes the "show me proof before I will believe" stance. I believe my husband is one too, and he is from an Engineering and Computer background.

Wow! Debi, that is quite an experience you had. I don't know if it's real or imagined but either way I am sure you were freaked out. Thanks for stopping by my blog and as for the quilting. If I can do it so can you. All it takes is the ability to sew a straight line with your machine.

Hi Kathy, thanks for following me too!! I will someday attempt to quilt as I absolutely love them!!

as a Christian, I don't really believe in ghosts persay, but I do believe in demons or spirits that can take the form of an apparition. There are definitely things on this earth that can't be explained by the Bible or science and I don't think we'll ever get them until we are in heaven. lol.

You're not nuts! I watch a lot of those shows and they say that when spirits are around you the temperature drops.

Ashley, my daughter is also a Christian, and she feels the same way as you. But whether or not you might call it a ghost or spirit, I felt something! LOL

Jenny, I too watch those shows and that is what really freaked me out, since It got colder even though I was covered and I had on flannel bottoms and socks!

Way too spooky. Had a fright one night when hubby was gone. Thought someone was in the room. I think our brains short circuit sometimes and decide to make up stories. Or... I think there really are spirits around us just like in the Christmas Carol. Better sleep with Walt at all times!

Debi said...

Definitely spooky!! I do prefer to sleep with Walt.
