Goodbye House! We shall miss you!! We never did finish the Front Yard Landscaping!
Hey Ya'll,
Sorry that I have been MIA for a few days. As usual, so much to do, so little time.... Anyway, Walt and I took his Mom to lunch on Friday, for her Birthday. I Crocheted her a long Scarf and a small Crocheted Ballerina Bear. The pattern calls for it to only measure 3"'s tall. The way I made it, it turned out to be about 10"-12"'s tall. Her favorite colors are Purple, so that was the colors that I chose for the Tutu. I will post photos of it at the end of the post.
So Saturday, Walt and I drove down to the Sacramento area, so that we could pack up the remaining "stuff" that was still at the house, so that we could get it moved up to our Storage Unit. I didn't want to sleep on the floor at the house, even on an air mattress, as it is just too hard for me to get up off the floor (I'm not a spring chicken anymore)! So we stayed at my Step-Daughter Kat's house. After we had lunch, I drove over to my parents house and visited them for an hour or so, then our oldest Daughter Christa and her family, came over and helped us finish packing. And Mark, Christa's husband dug up the 4, Bird of Paradise plants, that we had planted behind the pool, so that she could plant them at her house. After we were finished, we drove to Sacramento to Kat's, and went to dinner with her and her husband Elliott, before going to their house for the night.
Walt and I left early the next morning, to go back to our house to start loading the belongings into our friend Dan's Bobtail. He has been so gracious to allow us to use his Bobtail, to move our "stuff" to the Storage Unit in Carson City, NV. He drove it of course, and helped to load and unload it. But we did pay for all the fuel, and his meals. But for him to take 3 days of his time to help us, was much appreciated.
So we drove back up to Carson City on Sunday, after we finished loading the Bobtail up. After unloading it in the Storage Unit, we took Dan to lunch, then I drove the Truck home, while Walt and Dan took my Desk, Office Chair and the remaining Lateral File, to his Mom's house, as we gave them to her. Then Walt rode back to the Sacramento area with Dan, so that he could drive back home on Thursday, with the Gold Wing and it's Trailer. Oh, and of course he has my Trike Training Wheels attached to it!! This way, once we get it up here, and I have some practice riding it (as it is totally different than riding a regular Motorcycle), then I can ride it around, when Walt has the Truck in California at work.
Today, was the Auction for the House. :( I am not sure if I am happy about it, or not. But at least we no longer "own" the house, so we are no longer responsible for any accidents that may happen here. Which is why Walt continued to live in it after moving me up to the Carson City, NV area. We were concerned that someone would jump the fence and drown in the pool or something.....
Christa did manage to sell the Hot Tub and Gazebo last week for much less than we paid for them, and she also sold Walt's HUGE solid wood, Rosewood Office Desk and matching Credenza today!! Also for much less than we paid.
The house sold. So someone got a great house for a great price!! Our neighborhood is one of the more desirable ones in our City. Of course, it wasn't the most expensive neighborhood, but one of the nicer ones. We loved our house, and how we made it ours! But, well.....life goes on, and things change. So we are on to our new life as full time RV'rs.
So, since Walt went back with Dan on Sunday, and I was finally left with transportation, I spent the day driving around my new City and checking out the Craft stores here. Unfortunately, they left a lot to be desired. I usually buy my Yarn at Joann's, and the Joann's here in Carson City is just.....TINY! And they only had about 1/8th the amount of yarn that the store where I usually buy at has. Even the Michael's store has less than the one in California. However, I did find a local Craft Store that had a bigger supply of yarn, but they were a bit more expensive. So I will check out the Joann's and Michael's stores in Reno, hoping that they are more like the ones in California, otherwise, I will have to make the drive to California, when I am getting ready to start a new big project!! Not what I am wanting to do either!!
So I guess that I will end this for now, I need to get to bed, got lots to do to get our taxes done!! So till next time.....
Aloha My Friends :)
This is the Ballerina Bear that I just finished Crocheting for my MIL for her Birthday. I hope you like it. :)

I imagine the mixed emotions you're feeling about the house.. (((hugggssss))) to you.... And I love the bears! You are such a talented Lady!!
Thanks Lisa!!
Hi, I just stumbled upon your blog tonight & wanted to say I think your bear is super cute. I feel your pain of the tiny selection. I have to travel quite a ways to find a decent selection that doesn't cost an arm & a leg. Hopefully you will find ample selection in Reno. :-)
{{{hugs}}} Debi.
You are so talented and I love the bear!
Beautiful job on the bear! My favourite colour is pink! lol, Just kidding!
(((hugs))), you must be feeling overwhelmed about the house but you are on to bigger and better adventures I am sure!

Love the bear! So cute!
Thank you Ms M! It's nice to know that others like to Crochet too! It seems like there are more Knitters out there than Crocheters!
Thanks Jacquie! I needed the hugs!
Sandi, if you lived near me, I would love to make one for you too!
